The museum of the firefighters of Val-d'Oise invites visitors to discover the evolution of the profession of firefighter, from the 18th century to the present day. The collections exhibited, gathered with passion by the firefighters for more than thirty years, tell the story of the soldiers of fire: hand pumps, motor pumps, vehicles, uniforms, equipment against fire.
The museum is also a place of exchange between the population and the firefighters: prevention information is provided throughout the visit to raise awareness among children about the dangers of fire.
Visitors can discover what 'a goat' is, what 'to shift', where does the expression 'smoke like a firefighter' come from, or why trucks are red...
