Alexis Louvancour, ein Bücherliebhaber und Sammler, vermachte der Bibliothek von Châteaudun 1875 6000 Bücher. Normalerweise für die Öffentlichkeit geschlossen, wird der Louvancour-Saal, in dem die Bibliothek des Spenders im Geiste des 19. Jahrhunderts inszeniert ist, Besucher empfangen (auf Reservierung) und ausnahmsweise werden dort Bücher aus den Sammlungen des Kulturerbes präsentiert.

Alexis Louvancour, bibliophile and collector, bequeathed 6,000 books to the library of Châteaudun in 1875. Usually closed to the public, the Salle Louvancour, which stages the donor’s library in the spirit of the 19th century, will receive visitors (by reservation) and books from heritage collections will be exceptionally presented there.
