The Ossaloise transhumance towards the plain is no longer carried out on foot, and the paths formerly taken by the herds are gradually falling into oblivion. This study proposes to find these old routes, knowing that this winter transhumance extended from Pont-Long and Entre-deux-Gaves to the Gers and Bordelais.
If the weather conditions allow it, Jean-Claude Lassègues will then propose a visit of the cemetery and its discoid stelae, as well as the church.

The Commandery was founded by Gaston IV of Béarn, known as the Crusader, under the name d’Espitau DEU Faget d’Aubertii (Hospital de la Beech d’Aubertin) L’ancienne. The first known document is the Albertine Charter of 1128, commented on by Marca. The first mention d’un commander, and thus d’une commandery, appears in a 1208 document from the cartulary of Sainte-Christine-du-Somport. The hospital-commandery, stage of the pilgrims of Compostela toward the Somport pass, was managed by the regular canons of St. Augustine. L’établissement was disturbed during the Reformation, but it became prosperous again during the l’arrivée des Barnabites, around 1642, jusqu’à la Révolution (1610 is the date on which the Pope and the king granted the Barnabites l’ensemble possessions of St. Christine, on the French side. However, they n’arrivèrent to Lacommande only around 1642). The cloister was destroyed during the Reformation, but, during the Revolution, nothing was destroyed: l’église became the property of the commune, the l’ancien cemetery was maintained, while l’hôpital was bought by a private individual (Peyré dit Bergerou) who transformed it into a barn and cellar.
