Isabelle Caillot, archaeologist EVEHA, will intervene following the archaeological excavations carried out for 6 years on the historic center of Châteaufort in Yvelines.
Châteaufort, as its name suggests, was a châtellerie and the center of the largest deanery in Paris.
Isabelle Caillot will present the evolution and articulation between town and power centers during the Middle Ages.
There are still some vestiges such as the donjon, medieval cellars, and a cellar under the priory.
The village became royal in 1118 when it was taken from Hugues de Crécy by Louis VI le Gros.

The seigneury of Ors, the most important of Châteaufort in the seventeenth century, included from 1637 a castle with park and outbuildings built by Jean de Loynes. This castle, rebuilt in the nineteenth century has now disappeared. The grain mill, mentioned since 1694, belonged to the domain of Ors. Although its machinery has disappeared, it has nevertheless retained its 19th century appearance: a set of buildings organized around a courtyard with the mill itself, the cellars, a shed, stables and the old reach. The castle park has become a regional nature reserve.
