Jean-Christophe Ballot will evoke the appearance of landscape in the graphic arts.
He will approach the sensitive aspects through a subjective choice ranging from paintings by Nicolas Poussin to photographs by Michaël Kena, including Gaspard Friedrich, David Hockney, Hokusai, Cézanne and others... landscape and public policies with the establishment of "landscape observatories" by the Ministry of the Environment and approaches to the river, the mountain, the shoreline, the forest through its own work.
Jean-Christophe Ballot’s approach is part of a contemplative approach.
Trained as an architect, a graduate of the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs and FEMIS, and former resident of the Villa Médicis, Jean-Christophe is a knight of the order of arts and letters.
These works are present in the collections of major institutions (the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Louvre, the Pompidou Centre or the European House of Photography...). His work explores urban spaces, ports, places of memory, landscapes and archaeological sites.
