Come and visit the Maison-Atelier of Charles François Daubigny, the first artistic home in Auvers-sur-Oise, at a special price for Heritage Days.
This place was a place for artists to meet, and Charles Francois Daubigny received his students and friends there, completely in the spirit of today’s networks.
Listed historical monument, the Maison-Atelier de Daubigny also obtained the "Maison des Illustres" label in November 2014.
Come and discover this place still fresh, where once reigned the good mood when Charles-François Daubigny received his friends and students, Corot, Daumier, Oudinot, Geoffroy-Dechaume, Léonide Bourges ...
They spent many days of gloomy weather decorating the house and its workshop. Result, it is not less than 200 m2 of paintings that cover the walls of this house, simple, but which does not leave indifferent art lovers.
This Maison-Atelier was the first artistic home of Auvers-sur-Oise.
According to its visitors, it is the most authentic artistic place in Auvers-sur-Oise.

The painter Charles Daubigny acquired in 1860 a modest village house with a vast garden. He expanded the house and decorated several rooms with the help of his son Karl and some friends, notably Jean-Baptiste Corot and Honoré Daumier. In the entrance, the canvases have been replaced by copies due to Karl; on the other hand, the dining room and his daughter’s room still have the artist’s decorations directly painted on the wall. The workshop is covered on all the walls, above the paneling, with marouflaged canvases due to Corot.
