40 years of Archea

What a beautiful age! What a future!

The Association for Historical, Etymological and Archaeological Communal Research of La Capelle-et-Masmolène began its work in 1986 by securing the endangered remains of a pottery kiln from the early Middle Ages, discovered by Octave Durando, a pioneer in communal archaeological research, especially around the Grand Coucouillet cave.
For 40 years, many volunteers have been mobilized to respond to the heritage emergencies of the municipality.
This exhibition looks back on their actions and pays tribute to all those who have contributed to preserving and transmitting this heritage.
