Die im Jahr 910 gegründete Abtei von Cluny war der Ursprung eines regelrechten Netzes von Prioraten und Nebengebäuden, das sich über ganz Westeuropa erstreckte. Zwischen dem 10. und 12. Jahrhundert prägten die klunizistischen religiösen Einrichtungen das religiöse, politische, künstlerische und wirtschaftliche Leben. Gestützt auf den einzigartigen Fall von Nevers, der im 11. Jahrhundert drei Priorate in Clon zählte (Saint-Etienne, Saint-Victor und Saint-Sauveur), wird die Ausstellung die Besonderheiten des Ordens, aber auch die Grenzen seines Einflusses beleuchten.

Founded in 910, the great abbey of Cluny was at the origin of a real network of priories and dependencies, extending throughout Western Europe. Between the 10th and 12th centuries, Cluniac religious establishments shaped religious, political, artistic, and economic life. Based on the singular case of Nevers, who had three Cluniac priories in the 11th century (Saint-Etienne, Saint-Victor and Saint-Sauveur), the exhibition will highlight the specificities of the order but also the limits of its influence.

Fondata nel 910, la grande abbazia di Cluny è stata all'origine di una vera e propria rete di priorati e dipendenze, che si estendono in tutta l'Europa occidentale. Tra il X e il XII secolo, gli insediamenti religiosi cluniacensi hanno plasmato la vita religiosa, politica, artistica ed economica. Prendendo spunto dal caso singolare di Nevers, che annoverò tre priorati cluniacensi nell'XI secolo (Saint-Etienne, Saint-Victor e Saint-Sauveur), l'esposizione metterà in luce le specificità dell'ordine ma anche i limiti della sua influenza.

Fondée en 910, la grande abbaye de Cluny a été à l’origine d’un véritable réseau de prieurés et de dépendances, s’étendant dans toute l’Europe occidentale. Entre le 10e et le 12e siècle, les établissements religieux clunisiens ont façonné la vie religieuse, politique, artistique et économique. Prenant appui sur le cas singulier de Nevers, qui compta trois prieurés clunisiens au 11e siècle (Saint-Etienne, Saint-Victor et Saint-Sauveur), l’exposition mettra en lumière les spécificités de l’ordre mais aussi les limites de son influence.

Entre los siglos X y XII, las instituciones religiosas de Cluny dieron forma a la vida religiosa, política, artística y económica. Basándose en el caso singular de Nevers, que contó con tres priorados clunicianos en el siglo XI (Saint-Etienne, Saint-Victor y Saint-Sauveur), la exposición pondrá de relieve las especificidades de la orden pero también los límites de su influencia.
