Das älteste erhaltene Gebäude von Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, diese Kirche ist dem heiligen Nikolaus gewidmet, dem Schutzpatron der Schüler und auch der Seefahrer, die damals in großer Zahl im Hafen der Abtei an der Marne ausschifften. Das Gebäude wurde mehrmals umgebaut, was die unterschiedlichen Baustile erklärt. Wenn der Glockenturm romanisch ist, typisch für das 12. Jahrhundert, ist der Chor (aus dem 13. Jahrhundert) seinerseits gotisch, mit einem imposanten Glasdach von fast 8 Metern Höhe! Die Kirche ist seit 1947 unter Denkmalschutz gestellt.
Die von der Stadt in Partnerschaft mit der Stiftung des Kulturerbes und der Region Île-de-France durchgeführten großen Renovierungsarbeiten wurden Ende 2022 abgeschlossen: Austausch der Decke des Chors und des Glockenturms, Wiederaufnahme des Bauwerks, Sanierung, Ersatz zahlreicher stark beschädigter Steine (einschließlich Säulen und Zelte), Reinigung von bestimmten Glasfenstern... Bei dieser Gelegenheit wurde der römische Holzgewölbe nach der Zerstörung des Gipskartonbogens in der Zwischenkriegszeit wieder aufgebaut. Bewundern Sie den wunderschönen Hahn, der jetzt über das Gebäude wacht.

The oldest intact building in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, this church is dedicated to Saint Nicolas, patron saint of schoolchildren certainly, but also of sailors, many of whom landed then at the port of the abbey, on the Marne. The building has been redesigned several times, which explains the different styles of construction. If the bell tower is Romanesque, typical of the 12th century, the choir (from the 13th century) is Gothic, with an imposing glass roof almost 8 meters high! The church has been classified as a historical monument since 1947.
The major renovation works undertaken by the city, in partnership with the Fondation du Patrimoine and the Île-de-France Region, were completed at the end of 2022: replacement of the choir cover and the bell tower, resumption of the framework, refurbishment, replacement of many very damaged stones (including columns and capitals), cleaning of certain stained glass windows... On this occasion, the wooden Romanesque vault was restored following the destruction of the plaster vault between the two wars. Admire the superb rooster who now watches over the building.

Più antico edificio intatto di Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, questa chiesa è dedicata a San Nicola, patrono degli scolari certamente, ma anche dei marinai, molti sbarcarono allora al porto dell'abbazia, sulla Marne. L'edificio è stato più volte riprogettato, il che spiega i diversi stili di costruzione. Se il campanile è romanico, tipico del XII secolo, il coro (del XIII secolo) è invece gotico, con un'imponente vetrata alta quasi 8 metri! La chiesa è classificata monumento storico dal 1947.
I grandi lavori di ristrutturazione intrapresi dalla città, in collaborazione con la Fondazione del Patrimonio e la Regione Île-de-France, sono terminati alla fine del 2022: sostituzione della copertura del coro e del campanile, ripresa della struttura, ravvivamento, sostituzione di numerose pietre molto danneggiate (comprese colonnine e capitelli), pulizia di alcune vetrate... In questa occasione, la volta romanica in legno è stata ricostituita a seguito della distruzione della volta in gesso del periodo tra le due guerre. Ammirate il magnifico gallo che ora veglia sull'edificio.

El edificio más antiguo intacto de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, esta iglesia está dedicada a San Nicolás, patrón de los escolares, pero también de los marineros, muchos desembarcaron entonces en el puerto de la abadía, en el Marne. El edificio ha sido modificado varias veces, lo que explica los diferentes estilos de construcción. Si el campanario es románico, típico del siglo XII, el coro (del siglo XIII) es gótico, con una imponente vidriera de casi 8 metros de altura! La iglesia está clasificada como monumento histórico desde 1947.
Las grandes obras de renovación emprendidas por la ciudad, en colaboración con la Fundación del Patrimonio y la Región Île-de-France, han terminado a finales de 2022: sustitución de la cubierta del coro y el campanario, recuperación de la estructura, limpieza, sustitución de numerosas piedras muy dañadas (incluyendo columnas y capiteles), limpieza de algunos vidrios... En esta ocasión, la bóveda románica de madera fue reconstruida tras la destrucción de la bóveda de yeso del período de entreguerras. Admire el magnífico gallo que ahora vela sobre el edificio.
