Im Jahr 1791 wurde der Architekt M. Crucy von der Stadt mit dem Bau einer öffentlichen Promenade beauftragt. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurden dann um den Cours neoklassizistische Gebäude errichtet, was ihn zu einem beliebten Ort des Lebens und der Unterhaltung des bürgerlichen Großbürgertums in Nantes machte.
Achtung: Besucher haben keinen Zugang zu den Innenräumen.
