Dominating Paris from Montmartre, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart is a jewel of Roman-Byzantine architecture. Erected between 1875 and 1914, its white travertine facade shines under the sun and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the capital from its dome.
Inside, admire one of the largest gold mosaics in France representing the triumphant Christ. A place of active worship with perpetual adoration since 1885, it welcomes both pilgrims and visitors.
Access to the interior of the basilica is free. The climb to the dome (paying) rewards efforts with a 360°view. Open every day from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. A must for anyone visiting Paris!
