Visit the historic residence of Jean de Dinteville, great ambassador of Francis I, and be seduced by its moat, its charming park, its lakes and majestic trees.
In addition to this discovery, a temporary exhibition will be proposed in 2025 in the orangery of the castle.
Organized by the association Arc-en-Barrois Heritage and Culture, it will focus on "The English military hospital – Château d'Arc-en-Barrois – 1915/1919" and will present 20 panels of different formats.

The origin of the castle goes back up(raises) to the 13th century but there remains(subsists) no element of the first building(ship) of this time(period). In the 16th century, the castle appeared so: on a rectangular platform surrounded with staves(moats), four very different facades protected by round towers in four angles. On the death of Joachim de Dinteville, in 1607, the castle is left neglected. The castle Renaissance will be bought and changed by the knight Guillaume Le Brun in 1701: a wing to the right and front walls(pediments) are added, giving to the facade a classic symmetrical structure. The castle is surrounded with staves(moats) and with a sported park. The castle and the park are registered in conformance with(for) historic monuments.

Acceso

The park and the interior of the castle will obviously remain open to visits. The entrance to the park will be paid as on other opening days (only public monuments are required to offer free access). The visit of the interior of the castle will be possible thanks to guided tours that will be carried out continuously from 2 PM to 6 PM. Le Parc du château Adult rate (from 16 years): 5 €. Payment on site via the scan of the dedicated QR code.
