Dort, wo sich die Horizonte öffnen wurde aus einem einfachen Wunsch geboren: dem Wunsch, denjenigen zu begegnen, die Lorient mit Blick auf das Meer erleben lassen, zu Beginn seiner 360-Jahr-Feier.
Mehrere Monate lang durchstreifte Le Lieu de la Photographie das Gebiet, um sich mit Skippern, technischen Teams der maritimen Welt und Wissenschaftlern zu treffen. Porträts, Landschaften, Küstenfragmente, Erzählungen und Details der Häfen bildeten nach und nach ein gemeinsames fotografisches Material, durchzogen von Fragen des Abenteuers, des Ozeans und der Horizonte.
Diese Bilder wurden anschließend in Workshops mit Schülern, Anwohnern und verschiedenen lokalen Einrichtungen geteilt. Initiationen zum Cyanotyp, fotografische Märsche und kollektive Experimente haben neue Formen hervorgebracht, die von einer Vielfalt an Blickwinkeln und Erfahrungen genährt werden.
Die vom 1. bis 25. Oktober 2026 präsentierte Ausstellung vereint diese Fotografien, Spuren und kollektiven Kreationen in einer sensiblen Durchquerung der zeitgenössischen maritimen Identität von Lorient. Zwischen dem Hafen und der Stadt, zwischen denen, die das Meer nehmen, und denen, die an seiner Seite leben, zeichnet sie das Porträt eines Territoriums in Bewegung, offen für die Welt.

Where horizons open up was born from a simple desire: to meet those who make Lorient live, turned towards the sea, at the dawn of its 360 years.
For several months, Le Lieu de la Photographie traveled the territory to meet skippers, technical teams from the maritime world and scientists. Portraits, landscapes, fragments of the coast, stories and details of ports have gradually formed a common photographic material, crossed by questions of adventure, ocean and horizons.
These images were then shared during workshops conducted with schools, inhabitants and different structures of the territory. Initiations to cyanotype, photographic walks and collective experiments have given rise to new forms, nourished by a diversity of views and experiences.
Presented from 1 to 25 October 2026, the exhibition brings together these photographs, traces and collective creations in a sensitive journey through contemporary maritime identity in Lorient. Between the port and the city, between those who take the sea and those who live at its side, she draws the portrait of a territory in movement, open to the world.

Dove si aprono gli orizzonti è nato da un semplice desiderio: quello di andare incontro a coloro che fanno vivere Lorient rivolta verso il mare, all'alba dei suoi 360 anni.
Per diversi mesi, Le Lieu de la Photographie ha percorso il territorio incontrando capitani, team tecnici del mondo marittimo e scienziati. Ritratti, paesaggi, frammenti del litorale, racconti e dettagli dei porti hanno costituito a poco a poco un materiale fotografico comune, attraversato dalle questioni di avventura, di oceano e di orizzonti.
Queste immagini sono state poi condivise in workshop con scolari, abitanti e diverse strutture del territorio. Iniziazioni al cianotipo, marce fotografiche e sperimentazioni collettive hanno dato vita a nuove forme, alimentate da una diversità di sguardi ed esperienze.
Presentata dall'1 al 25 ottobre 2026, la mostra riunisce queste fotografie, tracce e creazioni collettive in un viaggio sensibile dell'identità marittima contemporanea di Lorient. Tra il porto e la città, tra chi prende il mare e chi vive al suo fianco, disegna il ritratto di un territorio in movimento, aperto sul mondo.

Là où s’ouvrent les horizons est né d'une envie simple : celle de partir à la rencontre de celles et ceux qui font vivre Lorient tournée vers la mer, à l'aube de ses 360 ans.
Pendant plusieurs mois, Le Lieu de la Photographie a parcouru le territoire à la rencontre de skippers, d'équipes techniques du monde maritime et de scientifiques. Portraits, paysages, fragments du littoral, récits et détails des ports ont peu à peu constitué une matière photographique commune, traversée par les questions d'aventure, d'océan et d'horizons.
Ces images ont ensuite été partagées lors d'ateliers menés avec des scolaires, des habitants et différentes structures du territoire. Initiations au cyanotype, marches photographiques et expérimentations collectives ont donné naissance à de nouvelles formes, nourries par une diversité de regards et d'expériences.
Présentée du 1er au 25 octobre 2026, l'exposition rassemble ces photographies, traces et créations collectives dans une traversée sensible de l'identité maritime lorientaise contemporaine. Entre le port et la ville, entre celles et ceux qui prennent la mer et celles et ceux qui vivent à ses côtés, elle dessine le portrait d'un territoire en mouvement, ouvert sur le monde.

Donde se abren los horizontes nació de un simple deseo: aquel de salir al encuentro de quienes hacen vivir a Lorient, orientada hacia el mar, en los albores de sus 360 años.
Durante varios meses, Le Lieu de la Photographie recorrió el territorio para reunirse con capitanes, equipos técnicos del mundo marítimo y científicos. Retratos, paisajes, fragmentos del litoral, relatos y detalles de los puertos han ido constituyendo poco a poco un material fotográfico común, atravesado por cuestiones de aventura, de océano y de horizontes.
Estas imágenes fueron luego compartidas en talleres realizados con escolares, habitantes y diferentes estructuras del territorio. Iniciaciones al cianotipo, marchas fotográficas y experimentos colectivos han dado origen a nuevas formas, alimentadas por una diversidad de miradas y experiencias.
Presentada del 1 al 25 de octubre de 2026, la exposición reúne estas fotografías, huellas y creaciones colectivas en una travesía sensible de la identidad marítima lorizada contemporánea. Entre el puerto y la ciudad, entre quienes toman el mar y los que viven a su lado, dibuja el retrato de un territorio en movimiento, abierto al mundo.
