Die Artothek von Grenoble wurde 1976 in der Mediathek Grand'Place eröffnet und ist die älteste noch aktive Bibliothek in Frankreich. Heute befindet sie sich in den Mauern der Bibliothèque d'Étude et du Patrimoine. Durch die Anpassung seiner Funktionsweise an die einer Bibliothek innoviert die Artothek von Grenoble und dient dem Kulturministerium als Inspiration für Projekte zur Entwicklung der Artotheken in Frankreich. Im Jahr 2026 umfasste die Sammlung der Artothek von Grenoble etwa 2.000 Werke, darunter 1.200 Drucke und 800 Fotografien. Das Jahr 2026 markiert den 50. Geburtstag dieser Institution, der ersten Artothek, die so viele Kerzen ausspuckte: Eine Reihe von Veranstaltungen ist geplant, darunter eine zentrale Ausstellung in der Studien- und Kulturbibliothek sowie Schauplätze in anderen Bibliotheken des städtischen Netzwerks.
Die Ausstellung zeigt Werke aus der Sammlung, die für die künstlerischen Strömungen repräsentativ sind, die seit den 1970er Jahren jedes Jahrzehnt durchlaufen haben. Mit diesem Projekt soll auch die umfangreiche Fotosammlung der Institution aufgewertet werden, indem die Vielfalt der zwischen den 1970er Jahren und heute erworbenen Werke hervorgehoben wird. Es geht auch darum, die Institution, ihre Funktionsweise und ihre aktuelle Beschaffungspolitik einem breiten Publikum näherzubringen.

Opened in 1976 within the Médiathèque de Grand'Place, the art library of Grenoble is the oldest still active in France, and today installed in the walls of the study and heritage library. By adapting its operation to that of a library, the Grenoble Artothèque is innovating and serving as an inspiration for the Ministry of Culture for the development projects of artothèques on French territory. In 2026, the collection of the art library of Grenoble has about 2,000 works, including 1,200 prints and 800 photographs. The year 2026 marks 50 years of this institution, the first art library to blow out so many candles: a series of events is planned, including a central exhibition at the study and heritage library and displays in other libraries in the municipal network.
The exhibition will present works from the collection, representative of the artistic currents that have crossed every decade since the 1970s. This project also aims to highlight the institution’s extensive photographic collection, highlighting the diversity of works acquired between the 1970s and today. It is also a matter of introducing the institution, its operations and its current acquisition policy to a wide variety of audiences.

Aperta nel 1976 all'interno della mediateca di Grand'Place, l'artoteca di Grenoble è la più antica ancora in attività in Francia e oggi si trova all'interno delle mura della biblioteca di studio e del patrimonio. Adattando il suo funzionamento a quello di una biblioteca, l'artoteca di Grenoble innova e serve da ispirazione al ministero della Cultura per i progetti di sviluppo delle artoteche sul territorio francese. Nel 2026, la collezione dell'artoteca di Grenoble conta circa 2.000 opere, comprese 1.200 stampe e 800 fotografie. L'anno 2026 segna i 50 anni di questa istituzione, prima artoteca a soffiare un numero così grande di candele: è prevista una serie di manifestazioni, tra cui una mostra centrale alla Biblioteca di studio e del patrimonio e scontri in altre biblioteche della rete comunale.
La mostra presenterà opere provenienti dalla collezione, rappresentative delle correnti artistiche che hanno attraversato ogni decennio dagli anni '70. Questo progetto intende anche valorizzare l'importante collezione di fotografie dell'istituzione, mettendo in evidenza la diversità delle opere acquisite tra gli anni '70 e oggi. Si tratta anche di far conoscere l'istituzione, il suo funzionamento e la sua politica attuale di acquisizione a una grande varietà di pubblico.

Ouverte en 1976 au sein de la médiathèque de Grand’Place, l’artothèque de Grenoble est la plus ancienne encore en activité en France, et aujourd’hui installée dans les murs de la bibliothèque d’étude et du patrimoine. En adaptant son fonctionnement à celui d’une bibliothèque, l’artothèque de Grenoble innove, et sert d’inspiration au ministère de la Culture pour les projets de développement des artothèques sur le territoire français. En 2026, la collection de l’artothèque de Grenoble compte environ 2 000 œuvres, comprenant 1 200 estampes et 800 photographies. L’année 2026 marque les 50 ans de cette institution, première artothèque à souffler un si grand nombre de bougies : un ensemble de manifestations est prévu, dont une exposition centrale à la bibliothèque d’étude et du patrimoine et des accrochages dans d’autres bibliothèques du réseau municipal.
L’exposition présentera des œuvres issues de la collection, représentatives des courantes artistiques qui ont traversé chaque décennie depuis les années 1970. Ce projet entend également valoriser l'importante collections de photographies de l'institution, en mettant en avant la diversité des œuvres acquises entre les années 1970 et aujourd'hui. Il s'agit aussi de faire découvrir l'institution, son fonctionnement et sa politique actuelle d'acquisition à une grande diversité de publics.

Abierta en 1976 en el seno de la mediateca de Grand'Place, la artoteca de Grenoble es la más antigua aún en actividad en Francia y hoy está instalada dentro de los muros de la biblioteca de estudios y del patrimonio. Adaptando su funcionamiento al de una biblioteca, la artóteca de Grenoble innova y sirve de inspiración al Ministerio de Cultura para los proyectos de desarrollo de las artótecas en el territorio francés. En 2026, la colección de la Artoteca de Grenoble cuenta con alrededor de 2.000 obras, incluyendo 1.200 estampados y 800 fotografías. El año 2026 marca los 50 años de esta institución, primera artóteca en lanzar un número tan grande de velas: se ha previsto una serie de manifestaciones, entre ellas una exposición central en la biblioteca de estudios y patrimonio y enfrentamientos en otras bibliotecas de la red municipal.
La exposición presentará obras procedentes de la colección, representativas de las corrientes artísticas que han atravesado cada década desde los años 1970. Este proyecto también pretende valorizar la importante colección de fotografías de la institución, destacando la diversidad de obras adquiridas entre los años 1970 y hoy. Se trata también de hacer descubrir la institución, su funcionamiento y su política actual de adquisición a una gran diversidad de públicos.
