Anlässlich der Europäischen Tage des Kulturerbes entdecken Sie die Abtei Notre-Dame de l'Étoile in Montebourg bei einer außergewöhnlichen Führung. Gegründet im 11. Jahrhundert, wahrscheinlich unter dem Einfluss von Wilhelm dem Eroberer, spielte diese Benediktinerabtei eine bedeutende Rolle in der religiösen und kulturellen Geschichte des Cotentin. Während der Französischen Revolution zerstört, wurde sie am Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts in einem von der romanischen Architektur der Normandie inspirierten Stil wieder aufgebaut.

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, come and discover the abbey church of Notre-Dame de l'Étoile in Montebourg during an exceptional guided tour. Founded in the 11th century, probably at the instigation of William the Conqueror, this Benedictine abbey played a major role in the religious and cultural history of Cotentin. Destroyed during the French Revolution, it was rebuilt at the end of the 19th century in a style inspired by Norman Romanesque architecture.
The visit will allow you to explore the history of this remarkable building, its architecture and its rich heritage. It will be followed by a commented demonstration of the great organ of the abbey, offering visitors the opportunity to discover the sounds and operation of this instrument that contributes to the artistic and spiritual richness of the place.
