I Will Always Be Looking For You - A Queer Anthology on Arab Art ist ein Buch, das von Haven for Artists unter der Leitung von Yasmine Rifaii & Nadim Choufi veröffentlicht wurde. Es vereint die Arbeit von 31 Künstlern aus 13 arabischsprachigen Ländern sowie literarische Beiträge von 24 Autoren aus der gesamten Region und ihrer Diaspora. Die Anthologie durchzieht Poesie, Essays, Fiktionen und experimentelles Schreiben - jeder Text steht in direktem Dialog mit dem Werk, das er begleitet. Herausgegeben von Haven for Artists - einer feministischen kulturellen Organisation, die in Beirut von Dayna Ash gegründet wurde - vereint diese bedeutende Publikation intergenerationelle künstlerische Stimmen, um die Definition von Queerness in der arabischen Welt zu erweitern: nicht als eine feste Identität, aber wie eine generierende Kraft, ein Verfahren, ein Bruch, eine Ablehnung.
Die Präsentation des Buches Ich werde immer nach dir suchen - eine queere Anthologie über arabische Kunst von Dayna Ash ist Teil von ب أنفاس نا ن ست مر Through Breath We Continues : ein Kooperationsprojekt zwischen dem Lips-Festival und dem Beirut Art Center für die Koproduktion und die Begleitung interdisziplinärer Projekte. Ausgezeichnet als Mittelmeersaison 2026, sieht diese Initiative die Auswahl von drei in der Produktion befindlichen Aufführungen, eine Residenzzeit, Unterstützung und eine öffentliche Präsentation beim Festival Lips #3 vor - Atem. Das von Elena Biserna, Ibrahim Nehme und Nour Sokhon gemeinsam betreute Projekt entsteht aus einem gemeinsamen Interesse an Atmung und Stimme als Plattformen des Lebens, der Beziehung und der gegenseitigen Abhängigkeit. In einem von ökologischen, politischen und wirtschaftlichen Krisen durchzogenen Kontext bekräftigt er den Wunsch und das materielle und symbolische Recht zu atmen und zu sprechen - zu existieren. Die ausgewählten Künstler, Dayna Ash, Shatr (Sarah Huneidi, Theresa Sahyoun und Nadine Makarem) und Nour Sokhon, bieten Erzählungen an, die in der Gegenwart verankert sind, aber offen für Vorstellungen von Wiederaufbau, Wiedergutmachung und Gerechtigkeit sind. Angesichts einer verschmutzten und durch massive Zerstörung erdrückenden Gegenwart beanspruchen sie die Luft und das Hörvermögen als gemeinsame Güter, sowohl biologisch als auch politisch, ökologisch und sozial. Zwischen Poesie, gesprochenem Wort, Bildern und Musik machen ihre Projekte das Sprechen und die Aufführung zu einem Raum der Pflege und des kollektiven Atems.

I Will Always Be Looking For You – A Queer Anthology on Arab Art is published by Haven for Artists under the direction of Yasmine Rifaii & Nadim Choufi. It brings together the work of 31 artists from thirteen Arabic-speaking countries, as well as literary contributions by 24 authors from all over the region and its diaspora. The anthology crosses poetry, essays, fictions and experimental writing – each text entering into direct dialogue with the work it accompanies. Published by Haven for Artists – a feminist cultural organization founded in Beirut by Dayna Ash – this major publication brings together intergenerational artistic voices to broaden the definition of queerness in the Arab world: not as a fixed identity, but as a generating force, a method, a rupture, a refusal.
The presentation of the book I Will Always Be Looking For You – A Queer Anthology on Arab Art by Dayna Ash is part of بِأنفاسِنا نَستَمر Through Breath We Continue : a cooperation project between the Lips Festival and the Beirut Art Center for the co-production and support of interdisciplinary projects. Awarded the Mediterranean Season 2026 label, this initiative provides for the selection of three performances during production, a residency period, support, and a public presentation at the Lips #3 Festival— Breath. Co-curated by Elena Biserna, Ibrahim Bala and Nour Sokhon, this project emerges from a common interest in breath and voice as platforms of life, relationship and interdependence. In a context crossed by ecological, political and economic crises, it reaffirms the desire and the material and symbolic right to breathe and speak – to exist. The selected artists, Dayna Ash, Shatr (Sarah Huneidi, Theresa Sahyoun and Nadine Makarem) and Nour Sokhon, propose narratives anchored in the present, but open to imaginaries of reconstruction, reparation and justice. Faced with a present polluted and made suffocating by massive destruction, they claim air and audibility as common goods, both biological and political, environmental and social. Between poetry, spoken word, images and music, their projects make speaking and performance a space of care and collective breathing.

Co-curata da Elena Biserna, Ibrahim Nehme e Nour Sokhon, questo progetto nasce da un interesse comune per la respirazione e la voce come piattaforme di vita, relazione e interdipendenza. In un contesto attraversato da crisi ecologiche, politiche ed economiche, riafferma il desiderio e il diritto materiale e simbolico di respirare e parlare - di esistere. Gli artisti selezionati, Dayna Ash, Shatr (Sarah Huneidi, Theresa Sahyoun e Nadine Makarem) e Nour Sokhon, propongono racconti radicati nel presente, ma aperti verso immaginari di ricostruzione, riparazione e giustizia. Di fronte a un presente inquinato e soffocato da distruzioni di massa, esse rivendicano l'aria e l'udibilità come beni comuni, sia biologici che politici, ambientali e sociali. Tra poesia, parole parlate, immagini e musica, i loro progetti fanno della parola e della performance uno spazio di cura e di respiro collettivo.

Face à un présent pollué et rendu étouffant par des destructions massives, elles revendiquent l’air et l’audibilité comme des biens communs, à la fois biologiques et politiques, environnementaux et sociaux. Entre poésie, spoken word, images et musique, leurs projets font de la prise de parole et de la performance un espace de soin et de respiration collective.
