Look up! Workshops torchis and timbers
PUT YOUR HAND TO THE DOUGH AT CHÂTEAU DE CRÈVECŒUR!
Organized by: CAUE du Calvados
Understand by manipulating and manufacturing. What’s better? By half-class, students will successively participate in a torchis workshop, led by the guide Sophie Talansier-Northias and a workshop build in wood pan, led by the guide Élisabeth Lachaume-Moutier, while the other part of the class will visit the castle of Crèvecoeur en Auge with the museum guides. Let’s go for a day full of learning!
The castle of Crèvecoeur built in the Middle Ages is surrounded by moats, which encircle and separate the farmyard and the high court. Between period architecture and reconstructions (bread oven, potter’s oven, etc.), everything is done to better understand past life, and help visitors project themselves in time.
Namely:
- Duration of visit: 5h
- The workshops and visits take place throughout the day from 10am to 12pm and from 1pm to 3pm. Meal time from 12pm to 1pm.
- Access to activities is by half class. One group visits while the other attends a workshop. After an hour, the two groups switch. Same operation morning and afternoon.
- Provide a picnic, clothes and shoes not dirty
