Lawyer and deputy of the Moselle, Robert Schuman (1886-1963) begins his ministerial career at the end of the Second World War. It was as Minister for Foreign Affairs (1948-1953) that he worked actively to launch the construction of Europe. On 9 May 1950, on the basis of a report drawn up by the Commissioner for the Plan, Jean Monnet, he made a historic declaration announcing the construction of an integrated Europe, which would later be called the 'Schuman Plan'. He was elected the first president of the European Parliamentary Assembly in 1958 and completed his political career in the early 1960s after being awarded the honorary title of 'Father of Europe' by the European parliamentarians. In the spring of 1926, Schuman acquires the property located at Scy-Chazelles. We visit her today as she was during the last years of her life.
