As part of the exhibition Neither God nor master! Arts and anarchy from Courbet to Banksy
Synonymous with disorder in everyday language, anarchy became a political thought in the middle of the 19th century. The first movement to delegitimize any form of authority, the political current is structured with only one watchword: "Neither God nor master!" By the place they reserve for individual freedom, anarchist ideas have seduced many artists since their emergence. The works of these creators have been imbued with this thought, as much as they have contributed to giving it an image, to disseminating it, to questioning it, to becoming an integral part of libertarian culture.
Crossing more than a century and a half of history and creation, this exhibition explores the links between movements, anarchist thought and the arts in all their forms, from the 19th century to today.

Dans le cadre de l'exposition Ni Dieu ni maître ! Arts et anarchie de Courbet à Banksy
Synonyme de désordre dans le langage courant, l’anarchie devient au milieu du XIXe siècle une pensée politique à part entière. Premier mouvement à délégitimer toute forme d’autorité, le courant politique se structure avec pour seul mot d’ordre « Ni Dieu ni maître ! ». Par la place qu’elles réservent à la liberté individuelle, les idées anarchistes ont séduit dès leur émergence nombre d’artistes. Les œuvres de ces créateurs ont été imprégnées de cette pensée, autant qu’elles ont contribué à en donner une image, à la diffuser, à l’interroger, jusqu’à faire partie intégrante de la culture libertaire.
Traversant plus d’un siècle et demi d’histoire et de création, cette exposition explore les liens entre les mouvements, la pensée anarchistes et les arts sous toutes leur formes, du XIXe siècle à nos jours.

Als onderdeel van de tentoonstelling Noch God noch meester! Kunst en anarchie van Courbet tot Banksy
Synoniem voor wanorde in alledaagse taal, werd anarchie in het midden van de 19e eeuw een politieke gedachte op zich. De eerste beweging die elke vorm van autoriteit delegeert, de politieke stroming is gestructureerd met de enige slogan "God noch meester! ". Door de plaats die ze reserveren voor individuele vrijheid, hebben anarchistische ideeën veel kunstenaars uit hun opkomst verleidt. De werken van deze scheppers zijn doordrongen van deze gedachte, net zo veel als ze hebben bijgedragen aan het geven van een beeld, het verspreiden, het ondervragen, tot het punt van een integrerend deel van de libertaire cultuur.
Deze tentoonstelling beslaat meer dan anderhalve eeuw geschiedenis en schepping en onderzoekt de verbanden tussen bewegingen, anarchistische gedachten en de kunst in al hun vormen, van de 19e eeuw tot heden.
