Released in 1927, The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog is Alfred Hitchcock's first true thriller and the founding work of his career.
The story transports us to a foggy London, where a serial killer reminiscent of Jack the Ripper is spreading terror. At the same time, an enigmatic man (Ivor Novello), who bears a striking resemblance to the description of the murderer, moves in with the Bunting family to rent a room. Throughout the film, viewers are plunged into constant doubt about the tenant's guilt.
With this film, Hitchcock laid the foundations for his style, which would make him the undisputed master of suspense. A must-see for all lovers of mystery and classic cinema, presented by conductor Philippe Béran!

Sorti en 1927, The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (Cheveux d'or, VF) est le premier véritable thriller d’Alfred Hitchcock et l’œuvre fondatrice de sa carrière.
L'histoire nous transporte dans une Londres enveloppée de brouillard, où un tueur en série, rappelant Jack l'Éventreur, sème la terreur. Simultanément, un homme énigmatique (Ivor Novello), ressemblant étrangement à la description du meurtrier, s'installe chez la famille Bunting pour louer une chambre. Tout au long du film, les spectateurs sont dès lors plongés dans un doute constant quant à la culpabilité du locataire.
