Swing Art, the international swing dance and arts festival!
What is Swing Art?
Swing Art is first and foremost a festival of swing dance... but not the only one! A whole programme of choice events is planned to create links, sharing and interaction between swing dancers, artists from Bordeaux and the general public.
Every year in March, for the past 14 years, swingtime has been bringing in the best international swing professionals from all over the world to teach their art to Bordeaux dancers and to swing dancers from all over the world who have come to discover Bordeaux for the occasion. International musicians, "Swing and draw" artists, swing... and all this for a whole weekend!

- A cultural programme focusing on swing, its history and its artistic representations!
Special guests
This year's event will be marked by the presence of two special guests: Barbara Billups and Chester Whitmore.
These two swing legends have left their mark on the history of Afro-American jazz dance, from plantation dances to the solo jazz of today. They have worked with some of the greatest names in the field, and pass on their knowledge and authentic jazz vocabulary!

- A conference on the history of swing, open to all, led by Barbara Billups and Chester Whitmore.
- A SOLO JAZZ workshop led by Barbara Billups and Chester Whitmore.
- An exhibition of Jazz & Swing drawings and paintings by local artists.
- Swing'n Draw Happening on Saturday evening: a drawing competition open to all! - Registration required
