Monumentale Skulptur, die zwischen 2015 und 2016 vom palästinensischen Künstler Shareef Sarhan am Kreisverkehr des Hafens von Gaza errichtet wurde: LIGHTHOUSE, ein leuchtendes Werk, das auf einer Basis für das Recycling von Kriegsrückständen aus Gaza errichtet wurde, wurde in situ geschaffen. unter Beteiligung von Ingenieuren und jungen Künstlern aus Gaza. Nachdem er diesen öffentlichen Raum einige Jahre lang beleuchtet hatte, wurde er 2023 plötzlich von einem Panzer der israelischen Armee zerstört.
Im Rahmen seiner Residenz in der Cité des arts de la rue und begleitet von den Strukturen Lieux Publics, L'Échelle und den Ateliers Sud Side hat sich Shareef Sarhan zum Ziel gesetzt, LIGHTHOUSE wieder aufzubauen.
RE-LIGHTHOUSE ist also eine visuelle Kunstinstallation, die über Städte und Grenzen hinausgeht. Sie beginnt im Hafen von Gaza, reist nach Marseille, dann nach Bordeaux und Montpellier, bevor sie durch Frankreich und Europa reist und dabei das kollektive Gedächtnis einer belagerten Stadt sowie deren ästhetische Fantasie des Widerstands mitnimmt.
Gedacht als ein Werk, das verteidigt werden muss, wird RE-LIGHTHOUSE zu einem unzerstörbaren Gerät, das von Stadt zu Stadt immer wieder neu geboren wird.
Wenn diese Skulptur über die palästinensische Situation im weiteren Sinne spricht, zeugt sie von einer Reflexion über die demokratischen und territorialen Herausforderungen, die universelle Themen unserer zeitgenössischen Gesellschaften sind.

Monumental sculpture built between 2015 and 2016 by the Palestinian artist Shareef Sarhan on the roundabout of the Port of Gaza, LIGHTHOUSE, a luminous work built on a recycling base of war debris from Gaza, was realized in situ, involving the participation of engineers and young Gazan artists. After illuminating this public space for a few years, it was suddenly destroyed by an Israeli army tank in 2023.
As part of his residency at the Cité des arts de la rue and accompanied by the structures Lieux Publics, L'Échelle and the Ateliers Sud Side, Shareef Sarhan has set himself the goal of rebuilding LIGHTHOUSE.
RE-LIGHTHOUSE, therefore, is a visual art installation that transcends cities and borders. It begins at the port of Gaza, travels to Marseille and then Bordeaux and Montpellier, before traveling through France and Europe, taking with it the collective memory of a besieged city and its aesthetic imaginary of resistance.
Conceived as a work to be defended, RE-LIGHTHOUSE becomes an indestructible device that will continue to rise from city to city.
If this sculpture speaks of the Palestinian situation, more broadly, it reflects a reflection on democratic and territorial issues that are universal subjects in our contemporary societies.

Scultura monumentale costruita tra il 2015 e il 2016 dall'artista palestinese Shareef Sarhan sulla rotonda del porto di Gaza, LIGHTHOUSE, opera luminosa costruita su una base di riciclaggio dei detriti di guerra di Gaza, è stata realizzata in situ, con la partecipazione di ingegneri e giovani artisti di Gaza. Dopo aver illuminato questo spazio pubblico per alcuni anni, è stato improvvisamente distrutto da un carro armato dell'esercito israeliano nel 2023.
Nell'ambito della sua residenza alla Cité des arts de la rue e accompagnato dalle strutture Lieux Publics, L'Échelle e gli Ateliers Sud Side, Shareef Sarhan si è posto l'obiettivo di ricostruire LIGHTHOUSE.
RE-LIGHTHOUSE, quindi, è un'installazione artistica visiva che trascende città e confini. Inizia dal porto di Gaza, viaggia fino a Marsiglia, poi a Bordeaux e Montpellier, prima di attraversare la Francia e l'Europa portando con sé la memoria collettiva di una città assediata e il suo immaginario estetico di resistenza.
Pensato come un'opera da difendere, RE-LIGHTHOUSE diventa un dispositivo indistruttibile che non smetterà di rinascere città dopo città.
Se questa scultura parla della situazione palestinese, più in generale, testimonia una riflessione sulle sfide democratiche e territoriali che sono temi universali delle nostre società contemporanee.

Sculpture monumentale construite entre 2015 et 2016 par l’artiste palestinien Shareef Sarhan sur le rond-point du Port de Gaza, LIGHTHOUSE, œuvre lumineuse construite sur une base de recyclage de débris de guerre de Gaza, a été réalisée in situ, impliquant la participation d’ingénieurs et de jeunes artistes gazaouis. Après avoir illuminé cet espace public durant quelques années, il est subitement détruit par un char de l’armée Israélienne en 2023.
Dans le cadre de sa résidence à la Cité des arts de la rue et accompagné des structures Lieux Publics, L’Échelle et les Ateliers Sud Side, Shareef Sarhan s’est fixé comme objectif de reconstruire LIGHTHOUSE.
RE-LIGHTHOUSE, donc, est une installation artistique visuelle qui transcende les villes et les frontières. Cela commence au port de Gaza, voyage jusqu’à Marseille puis Bordeaux et Montpellier, avant de parcourir la France et l’Europe, emportant avec elle la mémoire collective d’une ville assiégée et son imaginaire esthétique de résistance.
Pensé comme une œuvre à défendre, RE-LIGHTHOUSE devient un dispositif indestructible qui ne cessera de renaitre de villes en villes.
Si cette sculpture parle de la situation palestinienne, plus largement, elle témoigne d’une réflexion sur les enjeux démocratiques et territoriaux qui sont des sujets universels de nos sociétés contemporaines.

Escultura monumental construida entre 2015 y 2016 por el artista palestino Shareef Sarhan en la rotonda del puerto de Gaza, LIGHTHOUSE, obra luminosa construida sobre una base de reciclaje de restos de guerra de Gaza, fue realizada in situ, Con la participación de ingenieros y jóvenes artistas de Gaza. Después de iluminar este espacio público durante algunos años, fue destruido repentinamente por un tanque del ejército israelí en 2023.
En el marco de su residencia en la Cité des arts de la rue y acompañado por las estructuras Lieux Publics, L'Échelle y los Ateliers Sud Side, Shareef Sarhan se ha fijado como objetivo reconstruir LIGHTHOUSE.
RE-LIGHTHOUSE, por lo tanto, es una instalación artística visual que trasciende ciudades y fronteras. Comienza en el puerto de Gaza, viaja hasta Marsella y luego a Burdeos y Montpellier, antes de recorrer Francia y Europa, llevándose consigo la memoria colectiva de una ciudad asediada y su imaginario estético de resistencia.
Pensado como una obra a defender, RE-LIGHTHOUSE se convierte en un dispositivo indestructible que no dejará de renacer de ciudad en ciudad.
Si esta escultura habla de la situación palestina, más en general, da testimonio de una reflexión sobre los desafíos democráticos y territoriales que son temas universales de nuestras sociedades contemporáneas.
