Integrity or autonomy: which epistemic values for which public policies?
The framing of the issue of misconducts in biomedical research in terms of integrity obfuscates the structural dimension of the phenomena. On the contrary, social theory of science, pointing toward the economic and institutional infrastructures of knowledge production, proposed to analyse it in terms of the autonomy of the different research fields.
