Carried out as part of the restoration work on the Saint-Michel church in Flines-lez-Râches, a listed historical monument, an archaeology operation, carried out by the Directorate of Preventive Archaeology of Douaisis Agglo has allowed a better understanding of the history and evolution of this exceptional building.
Carried out between 2025 and 2026, it revealed valuable remains and clues, sometimes threatened with disappearance: engraved dates, tool traces, painted decorations, or even medieval frame elements. Through this study, discover how archaeology contributes to safeguarding a fragile heritage, to revive its history and to transmit the knowledge it contains.
