The domain of Valrose is an exceptional site located in Nice, considered one of the most beautiful properties of the Riviera under the Second Empire. The estate was built from 1867 at the request of Baron Von Derwies, a rich Russian passionate about music who made it his winter residence. The neo-Gothic castle and the 10-hectare landscaped park were designed by renowned architects. In 1965, the domain of Valrose became the headquarters of the University of Nice, which then took the name of University Sophia-Antipolis, then University Côte d'Azur in 2015\. Its botanical park, classified Historical Monument, remains one of the most varied of the Côte d'Azur. The park brings together harmoniously Mediterranean species as well as plants from Central and Eastern Europe
