In 1965, the domain of Valrose became the headquarters of the University of Nice, which then took the name of University Sophia-Antipolis, then University Côte d'Azur in 2015\. Its botanical park, classified Historical Monument, remains one of the most varied of the Côte d'Azur. The park brings together harmoniously Mediterranean species as well as plants from Central and Eastern Europe
