The castle, which stands on the left bank of the river, creates a majestic backdrop. At its feet, along the wooded bank of the Allier, stretches a row of charming medieval houses, each with its own small garden, topiary hedges, flowers and climbing plants. It was there, in the mid-1970s, that Gilles de Brissac designed his landscaped park of nearly 5 hectares, a real jewel of fantasy, where the abundance of English gardens and the rigor of French parks mingle. The floral park of Apremont is not the garden of the castle. Gilles chose to integrate it into the village classified among the most beautiful in France, so that it is the natural continuation.
