À propos du lieu

It is to Joseph de la Perraudière -1832-1917- that we owe the construction of this vegetable garden of one hectare entirely enclosed by walls. But we owe the idea to Auguste de La Devansaye -1817-1871 who developed and reworked with André Leroy between 1843 and 1849 (source Archives du Maine et Loire) the plan of the whole park with of course a vegetable garden and an orchard. The one-hectare walled vegetable garden has recovered in recent years its use as a food and floral garden with its many varieties of fruits, vegetables and flowers as well as its collection of apple and pear trees. He was awarded a Prix de La Société Nationale d'Horticulture de France in 2007 and is visited by a growing audience.
