Unique discovery visit: agriculture and landscape in harmony, a park designed by the Count of Choulot in Saint-Brisson
On the occasion of the Rendez-vous aux jardins, enjoy a tour of the property and the gardens of the Maison du Parc du Morvan in Saint-Brisson, under the prism of the layout designed by Paul de Lavenne, Count of Choulot, famous landscaper of the nineteenth century. In 1858, the latter drew up a plan that harmoniously combines the agricultural and landscape vocations of the Saint-Brisson estate, many traces of which are still visible today. The visit will be made with several voices, between reading of landscape crossing past and present, readings of extracts from the theory «The Art of gardens» of the Count of Choulot and historical anecdotes on the place.
A signature of the book devoted to the count of Choulot and his works of Nivernaises, by his two authors, will take place at the end of the visit to the Bistrot du Parc, which will offer for the occasion a tasting of herbal teas and kefir. This event is the result of a partnership between the Conseil d'architecture, d'urbanisme et de l'environnement (CAUE) de la Nièvre, the Morvan Regional Natural Park and the Bistrot du Parc.
