Jardin partagé du Hammelspfad

The Intergenerational Council of the City of Barr, supported by the municipality, proposed the creation of a shared garden and a working group was formed around this project in spring 2021\. The association Jardin Partagé du Hammelspfad* was created in November and the first plantations were able to start in December thanks to the financial support of the Commune (under the France Relance programme) on a plot of 10 acres located at thesays Bruegel - along the way to the Hammelspfad. The shared garden is based on values of solidarity, ties, friendliness. It aims at collaboration between gardeners. It does not include private plots. It is a garden to learn how to grow edible plants together (or not), create a link between inhabitants of all generations, host activities to discover gardening, soil life, local plants and wildlife over the seasons. The choice was made, in agreement with the City of Barr, to practice a natural gardening, without resorting to chemicals. The plants chosen are
