Built in 1465 on the location of a fortress, the Castle of Jallanges was built by King LOUIS XI, to install(settle) the Mayor of Tours(Ballots,Towers) there, its Silver cabinet(Treasurer). The monarch developed a new "fashion" in Touraine, established(constituted) by equipment(casting off) of brick and stone of tufa, will of ostentation and esthetic option of refinement. Successively property of Secretary of King, Silver cabinets(Treasurers) of King and Queens Charlotte, Claude of France, the Treasurer of France, it is also Marie GAUDIN's house, Favorite of François 1st, grandmother of Gabrielle d' Estrées celebrate favorite of Henri IV. Set up as Châtellenie in 1631, Jallanges keeps(guards) even today its smile of light, with its elegant silhouette, testimony of the good taste of his(her) builders(manufacturers). Without real work of protection(saving) during the XXth, he(it) is acquired(bought back) in 1984 by the family Ferry-Balin, the current owner, who began(undertook) the heavy mission of protection(saving) and restoration(catering), by creating count of events and gala evenings there all year round.
Abandoned(Given up) during more than half a century, Jallanges was bought in 1984 by the Family FERRY-BALIN which restores him(it) with passion and patience. Surrounded by the vineyards(vines) of VOUVRAY, "JALLANGES", is lined with a Park in the secular cedars, with a wood of more than 25 hectares, a Garden the French Renaissance, and of a Chapel Historical monument of the XVIIth.
