Free tour without reservation of the labyrinthine gardens MH and remarkable label garden of the Château de la Ballue; and dive into the wonderful world of Alice in Wonderland.
Discover by visiting these remarkable and carved gardens, one of the major know-how gardener in the management of a beautiful garden: topiary art. You can also admire the exceptional natural botanical collection of boxwood approved by the CCVS (Conservatory of Specialized Plant Collections). Recreated in the 70s by 2 renowned architects, the gardens of the Château de la Ballue are historical monuments, remarkable garden label, tourism quality label and received in 2018 the 2nd European prize of the EGHN (European Garden Heritage Network).
Program:
- All weekend: Visit freely the 3 gardens of the Château de la Ballue and enter the theme of this 21st edition by letting your senses awaken.
- Saturday afternoon: two performances at 3 pm and 5 pm to discover the dance company Hors mots, «Elles»: a choreographic piece made by 14 dancers, paying tribute to women from here and elsewhere, yesterday and today.
- And to have fun always, on Sunday, June 2, 2024, medieval ball with the Ménestraudie and the Rigourdaine, ensemble of costumed medieval musicians and dancers, in the gardens, all day.
On site, discover our pretty tea room where you can enjoy a small salty restaurant, homemade pastries, many teas and drinks. The Château de La Ballue also offers a wide range of books on gardens and plants, high-end candles from the brand La Française but also regional organic artisanal products in its shop.
Schedules: Saturday 1st June and Sunday 2nd June 2024 from 10am to 6:30pm.
Regular rates: 10.50 € adult - 8.50 € for 10-18 years, students and job seekers - free up to 10 years. A visit brochure with map is given at the entrance to each visitor. The entrance to the gardens allows free access to the various shows.
