Château du Bois Rouaud
Le Bois Rouaud, Chaumes-en-Retz 44680
- Loire-Atlantique
- Pays de la Loire
If this park, created in 1905 by Edouard André seems to fit with simplicity in the continuity of the landscaped gardens of the 19th century, it reveals a landscape gesture quite remarkable : the arrival alley. Planted on either side of small groups of trees of different varieties, described by Edouard André in his General Treatise on the Composition of Parks and Gardens published in 1879, it is an exceptional composition by its rarity, no alley of this type seems, to date, known on French territory. The park hosts a beautiful collection of old roses.
