In the heart of a park of 85 hectares, the castle of Trévarez dominates the valley of the Aulne for more than a century. A must-see site in Centre-Finistère, labeled «20th century heritage», the history of the Domaine de Trévarez is marked by the imprint of a man, James de Kerjégu born in Trévarez in 1846 and died shortly after the construction of the castle in 1908. Since 2006, the park is labeled «Jardin Remarquable» by the Ministry of Culture and Communication. In February 2016 the Société Internationale du Camellia awarded the «Jardin d'excellence» label to the Domaine de Trévarez for its collection of camellia, thus allowing it to join the very closed club of the 50 most important camellia gardens in the world
