Peaceful Eure Garden
This artist’s garden is hidden in a small village south of Évreux in the heart of Normandy. Created ex nihilo on a floor full of history, from the Neolithic to the allied landing, Engelmarie Sophie, sculptor painter, created this garden in 2016.
Authentic and unclassifiable garden around the artist’s works inspired by history in connection with nature and as she affirms «nature is my master». The colors, shapes and hazards of life require constant adaptation and humility in creation. Painting, sculpture and work on rice paper, testify to this approach.
From April to October the garden and the workshop are open to the public by appointment for small and large groups by presenting each year an exhibition of a guest artist. Highlights are also organized such as concerts, readings, artistic performances or initiations to painting on rice paper.
