Jardin des Tuileries, entrée Lemonnier
Avenue du Général Lemonnier 75001 Paris
In the heart of Paris, this 22.4 ha garden is one of the oldest and most prestigious in the capital. It is classified as a Historic Monument, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and benefits from the Remarkable Garden label. Located on the former site of kilns of tuiliers, the Tuileries tell nearly five centuries of history of the gardens. Created by Catherine de Medici in 1564, they owe most of their personality to André Le Nôtre, the gardener of Louis XIV, who recreated them in 1664\. But this garden is also contemporary: it was regenerated by Pascal Cribier and Louis Benech in the 1990s. Beautifully maintained by a dedicated team of art gardeners and sculpture restorers, it depends on the subdirectory of the gardens of the Louvre Museum. A veritable museum of outdoor sculpture, rich in masterpieces ranging from the 17th century to contemporary art, the Tuileries Garden offers walkers flowers renewed each year and varied atmospheres. Don’t hesitate to enjoy cafés and restaurants, play games
