On the back of the building there are two secret gardens, designed by Vignola, but completed after his death, and, further upstream, a further place of delights, consisting of a scenic system of terraces and fountains accompanying the so-called "Palazzina del Piacere". This complex (1584-1586), built by Jacopo del Duca and renovated in the seventeenth century by Girolamo Rainaldi on behalf of Cardinal Odoardo Farnese, has welcomed as a summer residence the President of the Republic Luigi Einaudi (1948-1955).
