Discovery of the Yongden Garden
It is at the foot of the Cousson mountain in Digne-les-Bains that Alexandra David-Neel designed Samten Dzong, her "residence of reflection", a writer’s house surrounded by a vast garden including a rose garden, a vegetable garden and fruit trees. In 2019, the rose garden and the explorer’s vegetable garden were rehabilitated, and since June 2023, new walking areas are accessible. The garden has regained its rights and the rosebushes embalm the alleys.
Let yourself be carried away by the letters of the explorer read during the visit, and discover the reasons that led Alexandra David-Neel to settle in Digne-les-Bains. You will learn more about the successive arrangements she made on her land and her special affection for roses.
