The garden of Villa La Quiete was built in the eighteenth century by Anna Maria Luisa de' Medici, Electress Palatine, and is the last example of a Medici garden. The garden has retained its original forms and is currently being restored thanks to a PNRR funding that will allow for the first time the opening of this space of great historical, artistic and landscape importance, located a short distance from the nearby Medici Villas of Careggi, Petraia and Castello. The presentation of the restoration project will be followed by a visit to the frescoed apartment of the Electress Palatine, where there are images of Medici villas and gardens, allegorical animals, plants and fascinating ruins surrounded by nature.

Villa La Quiete is a Medici Villa that was in the eighteenth century the home of Anna Maria Luisa de' Medici, the last member of the family. In addition, since 1650 the Villa has been the seat of the Montalve women’s college, a lay institute for the education of women among the most modern and long-lived in Europe. The Villa can be visited with guided tours and the route includes the frescoed apartment of the Electress Palatine, the Low Choir, the Church of SS. Trinità, the seventeenth-century Spezieria and a series of Renaissance masterpieces including the "Coronation of the Virgin" by Sandro Botticelli. Soon the visit path will be added to the garden wanted by the Electrician, the last Medici garden, which is currently being restored thanks to a PNRR funding.
