À propos du lieu

Orto romano di Bene Vagienna
Frazione Roncaglia 12, 12041 Bene Vagienna CN
  • Cuneo

A corner of garden that breathes quietly on the edge of a wooded shore, a short distance from the remains of the amphitheater of Augusta Bagiennorum. Thus appears, in the shadow of Cascina Ellena, the Roman Garden of Bene Vagienna. A quadrangular surface that recalls the utilitarian regularity typical of the ancient Romans, with four homogeneous sectors destined for cereals, orchards, vegetable gardens, aromatic and medicinal plants. No space for the superfluous, only two dirt paths that intersect, embellished with a vine pergola on chestnut poles. A meditative appendix in the heart of history, in short, where you can touch the charm of Roman civilization, associating to this corner of domestic everyday life, a visit to the nearby archaeological park.
