JARDIN DU BOUT DU MONDE Millenary site, on the banks of the Loir, including an 11th century chapel, an annex building and a garden. Located at the end of rue Saint Léonard, opposite the castle of Durtal, on the banks of the Loir. The street was extended by a ford, then a wooden bridge built in the 11th century by the lord of the city. Crusaders, monks, pilgrims and merchants crossed it until the 14th century, when the bridge was destroyed and the chapel abandoned.
The buildings were restored at XX° and XXI° and transformed into an artist’s residence by designer Agnès Yamakado and a concert hall and recording studio by Pierric Guennégan, with the greatest respect for heritage.
The garden is reached by a small bridge over an arm of the Loir. The garden, located on the edge of the water offers an exceptional view of the castle and the waterfall. The residence is on several bike tours. it is 3 minutes from exit 11 of the A11 motorway (exit Durtal) 15km from the Fleche and 30km from Angers. There are two nearby car parks: parking of the small port and parking saint Leonard. accessible PMR
