The castle of Pupetieres was born in the thirteenth century. It suffered the ravages of the French Revolution. This heritage was restored by Eugène Viollet-le-Duc from 1860 to 1868\. The famous architect knew how to combine the stone, the brick, the pisé, the pebble pesci with a perfect harmony, allowing this place to preserve its soul of yesteryear and to make of it one of the masterpieces of the neo-Gothic architecture of the nineteenth century. The polychromy of the glazed tiles highlights the multiple layouts of the roof of the castle and its towers capped in pepper. Viollet-le-Duc was able to highlight the decors that testify to what was the Renaissance of the Decorative Arts in the nineteenth century....
