Le Petit Black Movie has always favored artisanal animation, won over by its audacity and diversity. It is at the heart of its history and the infinite possibilities offered by this medium that we invite you to immerse yourself this fall, through four original programs each devoted to a traditional technique.
You will find 24 wonders from the four corners of the world having as a common denominator the passionate work and the meticulous care taken in the creation and manufacture of the characters and settings, whether they are made of paper, fabrics, modeling clay and other everyday materials. From 1908 to the present day, from Argentina to China via Russia and the Congo, let yourself be taken on a space-time journey to discover the most beautiful works of animated cinema, within everyone's reach. and all.
Wednesday October 16, 3 p.m.: Sheet-canaillou-cisseau (Cut-out elements) Halfway between drawing and volume lies the marvelous world of animation in cut-out elements, a technique popularized and transcended by genius filmmakers, like Youri Norstein and Hermína Týrlová. These creations in paper, silhouettes forming shadow puppets, felt or even fabrics are full of inventiveness to stage tales in which animals are in the spotlight.
