Exhibition “Topographies of life”

Artists: Carine Bovey, Elias Njima, Paul Paillet
12 février - 14 mars
Carine Bovey, Smaragdheim (série Hortus Vulnerabilis), 2024, court. galerie GOWEN

Over the centuries, gardens have evolved, adopting varied representations which reflect the dynamics and transformations of our societies. The Topographies of Living exhibition traces this evolution and explores its symbolism through mediums such as painting and video. The works presented question the complexity of these spaces, which are at the same time places of refuge, contemplation and creation . Gardens appear as territories of duality: sometimes sanctuaries of spirituality and renewal, sometimes spaces of transgression, demands or experimentation. Topographies of Living redefines the garden not only as a physical space, but also as a symbolic territory, questioning its place in our collective imagination and its role in the current transformations of our society.
