Chroniques urbaines : Etincelle
"Chroniques Urbaines", created in collaboration with the Urban Move Academy and its young performers, is an urban triptych dealing with street events that have made the headlines in recent years, in cities here and abroad: youth gang phenomena, rising incivilities, but also precariousness, police violence, lack of perspective and feelings of abandonment. A mini-series whose episodes follow one another, but don't resemble one another, and can be viewed independently of one another.
It's on the asphalt and in the darkness of the neighborhoods that we tell the stories of these young wanderers, as well as those of their families, friends and locals. Gathering testimonies and drawing inspiration from their surroundings, three authors - Emmanuelle Destremau (Plan-les-Ouates), Antoine Jaccoud (Thônex) and Olivia Csiky Trnka (Meyrin) - have created stories and scenarios inspired by real-life events, which they have presented in the form of a soundtrack - a powerful narrative wrapped in hip-hop sounds, at the heart of a brilliant yet intimate spectacle-fresco. Dance, skateboarding and parkour are on the bill for these "Urban Chronicles", a whole range of exhilarating disciplines designed to achieve a form of resilience. Because it's with strength that we must move our bodies to make our hearts beat. Higher.
