Jeudi 7 novembre, 18h00Passé
Bibliothèque de Genève

The photographs of Auguste Garcin and his successor John Jullien, produced between 1865 and 1890, are preserved at the Centre d'Iconographie de la Bibliothèque de Genève. Dive into the history of these collections with Eloi Contesse, curator at the Library, and Ursula Baume Cousam, scientific assistant.
Discover how the development of photographic techniques at the end of the 19th century considerably amplified the distribution of landscapes (already made famous by painters and engravers), in a variety of formats, from visiting cards to postcards.
