Between the wolf and the lamb: the animal in Swiss poster art

Festival Histoire et Cité
Jeudi 3 avril, 12h15
Bibliothèque de Genève

The domestic or wild animal is an inspiring subject for poster designers. Symbols of a country, region or city, they are also associated with the rise of tourism and the consumer society. The Alps and their resorts in particular make abundant use of them. The emergence of a sensitivity to nature and the environment also relies on Alpine bestiary. Hunting and the return of large predators have been the subject of intense debate in Switzerland in recent decades.

Organized by the Festival Histoire & Cité, in partnership with the Bibliothèque de Genève and the Médiathèque Valais
