An open discussion on environmental artivism

This discussion will explore the theme of environmental activism through art.
How can art become a tool for activism? How does it enable us to resist and get involved?
What role do artists play in helping us to understand environmental issues?
What can we do to support the artistic community in this endeavour?
Take part in a discussion with local stakeholders on environmental artivism and the climate emergency.
Speakers:
Loreleï Regamey: in charge of communications and Utopiana's digital transformation project. A graduate of the Visual Arts CCC - Critical Curatorial Cybermedia programme at HEAD - Geneva, where she also works as an assistant, Loreleï has been working with the Utopiana team since 2021 on the development of a collaboration and digital mediation platform. As a needle and text artist, she explores the transmission of minority knowledge, issues of (re)production and activist creative practices. She is currently pursuing further training in contemporary art history at the University of Geneva.
Ocean Schanz: in charge of mediation and coordination for Utopiana. A graduate of HEAD and the University of Geneva, she is a joyful artist and social science researcher who brings together her artistic practice with her research into the environment and feminism. As a mediator and coordinator at Utopiana, she accompanies and shares the artists' research within the residency.
This event takes place on the first Sunday of the month, so it's free and there's no need to register beforehand.
Through this series of 'think and act' events, we hope to explore with you the issues of climate change through the prism of MEG's specific characteristics. By tackling themes such as green colonialism, care, repair, food and clothing, as well as the transmission of knowledge and know-how and artivism, we hope to make the impact that our everyday actions can have on the environment more perceptible, and thus question our relationship with it.

À l'occasion de cette discussion, nous explorerons la thématique de l’activisme environnemental à travers l’art.
En quoi l’art peut-il devenir un outil de militantisme? Comment permet-il de résister et de s’engager?
Quel rôle jouent les artistes pour nous aider à comprendre les problématiques environnementales ?
Que pouvons-nous faire pour soutenir la communauté artistique dans cette entreprise ?
Participez à une discussion avec des acteur-ice-s locaux-ales en lien avec l'artivisme environnemental et l'urgence climatique.
Intervenant-e-s:
Loreleï Regamey : en charge de la communication et du projet de transformation numérique d’Utopiana. Diplômée du programme en Arts Visuels CCC - Critical Curatorial Cybermedia de la HEAD - Genève, où elle travaille également en tant qu’assistante, Loreleï collabore avec l’équipe d’Utopiana depuis 2021 dans le développement d’une plateforme collaboration et de médiation numérique. Travailleuse de l’aiguille et du texte, elle explore les transmissions de savoirs minorisés, les questions de (re)production et les pratiques créatives militantes. Elle poursuit actuellement une formation complémentaire en histoire de l’art contemporain à l’Université de Genève.
Ocean Schanz : chargée de médiation et coordination pour Utopiana. Diplômée de la HEAD- et de l’Université de Genève, elle est une artiste joyeuse et chercheuse en sciences sociales qui fait se rencontrer sa pratique artistique et ses recherches sur l’environnement et le féminisme. Médiatrice et coordinatrice à Utopiana, elle accompagne et partage les recherches des artistes au sein de la résidence.
Cet événement se déroule dans le cadre du premier dimanche du mois, il est donc gratuit et sans inscription au préalable.
À travers cette série de rendez-vous «pour réfléchir et agir» nous souhaitons aborder avec vous les questions de l’urgence climatique par le prisme des spécificités du MEG. En abordant des thématiques telles que le colonialisme vert, le soin, la réparation, l’alimentation, l’habillement, ou encore la transmission des savoirs et savoir-faire ou l'artivisme, nous souhaitons rendre perceptible l’impact que nos gestes quotidiens peuvent avoir sur l’environnement et ainsi questionner nos relations avec celui-ci.
La discussion sera suivie par une projection du film «La disparition des Lucioles » à l'auditorium.
