MEG is partnering the Festival cinémas d'Afrique Lausanne (FCAL), which will be held from 14 to 17 August 2025 in Lausanne.
As part of the temporary exhibition ‘Afrosonica - Soundscapes’, a series of films for adults, children and teenagers will be screened, offering a different perspective on the themes addressed by the exhibition.
Part of the programme has been co-created with the FCAL, which is sharing some cinematic gems for the occasion.
Film: Sudan Remember Us, by Hind Meddeb
During the tumultuous period leading up to the 2019 military coup in Sudan, a power struggle erupted between the army and the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces, which wanted to seize the country's wealth and forced millions of people into exile. In spring 2019, the filmmaker captures a jubilant moment of defiance among young Sudanese activists in Khartoum after the overthrow of a long dictatorship. The film paints a portrait of a young Sudanese generation fighting for freedom with their own words, poems and songs, a youth determined to overthrow the dictatorship and make their dreams of freedom triumph.

Le MEG s’associe avec le Festival cinémas d’Afrique Lausanne (FCAL) qui se tiendra du 14 au 17 août 2025 à Lausanne.
Dans le cadre de l’exposition temporaire « Afrosonica - Paysages sonores », un cycle de films pour adultes, enfants et adolescents vous est proposé afin de pouvoir approcher autrement les thématiques abordées par l’exposition.
Une partie de la programmation a été co-construite avec le FCAL qui partage quelques pépites cinématographiques pour l’occasion.
Film : Sudan Remember Us, de Hind Meddeb
Durant la période tumultueuse qui a mené au coup d’État militaire de 2019 au Soudan, une lutte de pouvoir a éclaté entre l’armée et le groupe paramilitaire Rapid Support Forces, qui, voulant s’emparer des richesses du pays, a contraint des millions de personnes à l’exil. Au printemps 2019, la cinéaste capture un moment jubilatoire de défi parmi les jeunes militants soudanais à Khartoum après le renversement d’une longue dictature. Ce film dresse le portrait d’une jeune génération soudanaise luttant pour la liberté avec ses propres paroles, poèmes et chansons, une jeunesse déterminée à renverser la dictature et à faire triompher ses rêves de liberté.
