BiblioWeekend 2023: discover the Sama objects of the MEG collection

On the occasion of the BiblioWeekend 2023, a weekend dedicated to libraries throughout Switzerland, whose theme is "Setting Sail", let us discover the objects of the Sama people (South-East Asia) in the MEG collection and the story of their arrival in the Museum. The Sama (800,000 people) live mostly in villages on stilts, but some still maintain their original and unique way of life: life in dugout canoes (leppa).
The objects will be visible all day in the library.

A l'occasion du BiblioWeekend 2023, un week-end consacré aux bibliothèques dans toute la Suisse, dont la thématique est «Mettre les voiles», découvrons les objets du peuple Sama (Asie du Sud-Est) de la collection du MEG et l'histoire de leur arrivée dans le Musée. Les Sama (800 000 individus) habitent pour la plupart en villages sur pilotis, mais certains maintiennent leur mode d’existence originel tout à fait unique : la vie dans les pirogues (leppa).
Les objets seront visibles toute la journée à la bibliothèque.
Programme de la journée
La bibliothèque sera exceptionnellement ouverte ce dimanche de 11h à 18h.
