The Mediterranean landscape of holidays in pioneering experiences in France and Italy
The meeting questions the architecture of holidays from the confrontation between pioneer examples, which transformed the coastal landscape and the hinterland at the time when, in the post-war period, holidays became a mass phenomenon.
Both on the coasts as in the inland areas, we are now faced with a different scenario than 50 years ago, where the effects of climate change intersect with the complex dynamics of social relations, cultural and economic between sedentary and sedentary communities.
What can we learn from these examples? How can changing travel and work practices be included in a landscape already strongly marked by human intervention and weakened by climate change?
